What I’m Loving
I’m not sure what possessed me to use my precious Sezane credit on this frock. Perhaps its the fact spring has sprung, perhaps it’s the fact I’m STILL working on edits and have lost my mind completely, perhaps I fell over, hit my head and think I’m circa 2004 Sienna Miller. Clearly I am too short for this dress. Look at it! The thing screams willowy and no amount of positive self-talk will change my 25 inch inside leg measurement. And yet, reader, I bought it.
And so, I waited for the package to arrive so I could turn right back around to Fedex and ship the bugger back (free returns, I love you Sezane). Then something strange happened. The dress arrived, I tried it on and against all the odds, I LOVE IT. Possibly teenage Lindsey rose up and demanded I give it a go because it’s exactly the kind of thing I would’ve wanted from Tammy Girl in 1996 and my mum would’ve refused to buy, saying it looked too much like something she wore in 1972, and maybe she was right at the time but whatever. I DON’T CARE, IT‘S MINE NOW, JANICE.
I’ve convinced myself it could work for future The Bell Witches events (stay tuned) and there’s a very sick part of my brain that wants to wear it unbuttoned from the waist down over a pair of jeans. Very 2001, very dangerous and if you see me doing it, you didn’t. Hurrah for trying new things!
Highlight of the Week
My skin has been so dry of late and no matter how nice I am to it, how many serums and lotions and scrubs I administer, my arms and legs and most of all, my back, continue to masquerade as woodchip wallpaper. Enter this magnificent Korean scrub mitt*.
